Depart at the Arboretum of the Heverlee Forest for a hike exclusively through forest. Ideal to really re-breathe. The Arboretum covers an area of about 9 ha and was created from 1930 - 1931. Walk among the many oaks, most of the species are from Europe and North America, but you will also find some from Asia and Japan. Stately avenues lead to the "Five Oaks," a crossroads where native oaks dominate. Stroll along the Prosperdreef, especially in autumn this avenue has a beautiful view, as the leaves of the American oak adorn themselves in bright red colors.
