You can start at the parking lot of the town hall and VVV office of Herk-de-Stad in Pikkeleerstraat. Before or after your bike ride, you can enjoy something at brasserie Olmenhof, which is located next to the town hall. A hundred meters further is another large free parking lot with some spaces for campers.
It is a beautiful route along quiet roads through orchards, fields, meadows, and nature reserves. Worth a stop is the war monument 'Helmen' located between junctions 351 and 355. Along the way, you will pass, among other things, the war museum, a restored watermill, several churches and chapels, farmhouses, and castles, as well as the nature reserve Het Vinne in Zoutleeuw..
