ZZW I R - Wambrechies (FR) - R

With this route, I would like to take you along in a south-southwest direction, starting from Roeselare to Wambrechies, which is located in France. Of course, you can hop on anywhere you like.

We start, as often, on the Stro Route and via Zilverberg, we head towards Koekuitkasteel. From here, we travel to Moorslede and further to Waterdam. From here, we take gentle paths towards Beselare, where we pass directly by the Café Coureur du Monde just behind the cobblestones to the left. If we were to ride this route in reverse, it would be an ideal stop, but it's still too early for that :). We continue over the A19, leaving Kruiseke on our right and Geluwe on our left, until we finally arrive in beautiful Wervik, and what a cathedral they have built here. Here, we not only cross the Leie via the bridge but also the border between Belgium and France, and subsequently travel about 27 kilometers through France on picturesque roads. First through Wervicq-Sud, then along Domaine Dalle-Dumont, and from here we set our course towards Wambrechies, where there are numerous establishments. Now the route heads back towards Roeselare. Through Verlinghem and La Houlette, we travel to Frelinghien, and here we cross the river La Lys back over the bridge as well as the national border. We set course for Warneton and continue through Mesen. Now we head to Hollebeke and through the Gasthuis forests towards Polygoon Woods, where we climb up to Reutel. From now on, we proceed along Vergifhoek to Passendale and we continue at a brisk pace over rural paths and the Stro Route back to Roeselare.
