Giro della Regina Brunilde is a varied Vespa and scooter route of about 126km from Vespa Club Avelgem – Squadra Segreta.
From our familiar clubhouse, the Vespabar in Bossuit, we head towards the Flemish Ardennes and then over the language border into the rural Hainaut.
The route takes us through a particularly beautiful border region where Flanders and Wallonia meet. Quiet rural roads, rolling landscapes, small villages, and winding paths constantly alternate. Through the area of the Flemish Ardennes and the Pays des Collines, we delve deeper into Picard Wallonia, passing towns such as Flobecq, Ellezelles, Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, Leuze-en-Hainaut, Pipaix, Brunehaut, and Rumes on or around the route.
Around km 34, we reach Le Moulin du Mouflu in Flobecq, a characterful first stop in the green landscape of the Pays des Collines.
Then the route winds further through Hainaut towards Pipaix, where a stop is made around km 64 at Trolls & Bush. An ideal place for a longer break or lunch and a great introduction to the local beer and regional culture.
After Pipaix, the ride also takes on a historical tint. Around km 82, we pass the Brunhildestone, from which the Giro della Regina Brunilde derives its name. This historical site refers to the legendary queen Brunhilde and represents a significant piece of heritage along the route.
We continue our way towards Rumes, close to the French-Belgian border. Around km 92 lies Relais de la Cloute, an authentic and typical café that is particularly popular with motorcyclists.
The atmosphere and location make it a fitting final stop for this Vespa ride.
After that, we head north again towards Bossuit, still enjoying rural roads and beautiful views, ultimately returning to our familiar Vespabar.
Giro della Regina Brunilde combines everything that a beautiful Vespa ride needs: pleasant driving roads, the hills of the Flemish Ardennes and the Pays des Collines, rural Hainaut, local gastronomy and beer culture, a touch of history, and above all, a lot of variety along the way.
A convivial cross-border club ride from Vespa Club Avelgem – Squadra Segreta, designed for leisurely cruising, exploring, and enjoying along the way.🛵
