Start at the Kiewithoeve. The walk leads from one nature reserve to another through a gently hilly landscape. First through Groot-Asdonk, then Dassenaarde, Eikelenberg, and the Prinsenwald, and finally Heuvelke and Achterheide. In many places, 'landscape restoration' is carried out by Natuurpunt. In practice, this means that the forest has to give way to the heathland. So it only depends on where you set your reference point in the past to achieve 'restoration.'
