In 1893, the Leuven architect-politician Joris Helleputte (1852 - 1925) drew the plans for the monumental Sacred Heart Institute. He died in 1925 and was buried in the cemetery of Park Abbey in a self-designed funerary monument.
In this walk, two unique and neighbouring Leuven sites are connected. The course is remarkable. Centuries of history lie still in this landscape southeast of Leuven that still breathes the influence of the Norbertine abbey and the Dukes of Arenberg.

The school campus of the Heilig Hartinstituut sisters annuntiaten Heverlee is located on a domain of more than 60ha on the outskirts of Leuven. It can accommodate about 100 residents, a nursery and more than 7000 pupils and students, a unique event in Flanders. Since 1995, the historic core of the school site has been protected. The Norbertine Abbey of Park was founded in 1129 in the hunting park of the Duke of Brabant. The historic remaining area of 42ha still owns all parts of the Ancien Regime Abbey and bears a great authenticity value.
