4243 ha of forest should be enough for an extensive day trip. The forest was once five times larger, but over time it has been significantly reduced. Nevertheless, the forest still presents itself naturally. It is beautifully interspersed with dry valleys, which are called "Dellen" here. The nickname "Cathedral of Trees" is due to the tall, straight beech trees that make up 80% of the forest's tree population. Despite numerous roads, the Brussels Ring and the E411 cutting through the forest, it is still good for wandering around.
DEPARTURE LOCATION
You can reach the church of Jezus-Eik by taking the Brussels Ring (R0) at the Leonard intersection for the E411. 1 km further, take the exit 2-Jezus-Eik. You cross the bridge over the E411.
PARKING
Behind the church at CC De Bosuil.
TYPE OF PATH
No vehicle traffic, mostly gravel surfaces, some asphalt sections, and cobblestone strips.
ACCESSIBILITY
Possible for strollers and wheelchairs if certain variants are considered.
