This circular hike takes you along the high valley ridges of the Hoegne from Pepinster to the medieval town of Theux (not far from Franchimont). Both have a train station, and Pepinster is reachable by train from Ghent in less than 2 hours.
The landscape is that of the "deforested" Ardennes, very hilly but open, allowing you to move from one amazing panorama to the next. A true "Dépaysement"...
The route runs 75% on paved - but very quiet - roads. It partly follows the GR 573 "Tour de la Vesdre" and its Spa variant.
