Circuit of the hills of Chaudfontaine

During this tour on the edge of the Pays d'Herve you will discover panoramas with hills, landscapes of hedges and meadows. After leaving on the banks of the Vesder in Vaux-sous-Chèvremont, we take the RAVeL. This former line 38 was a railway line used in the 19th century to transport coal from Fléron to Germany and metals from Plombières to the Meuse basin. Nowadays, you can cycle quietly on the old railway, because nature has regained its rights. When we leave the RAVeL shortly after the Slag heap of Basse-Ransy, we discover the landscape of hedges of the neighboring country of Herve, where we go after passing the beautiful Sainte-Anne chapel.

Route type: RAVeL, small roads.

Type of bike: Mountain bike.

Difficulty: A course of 18 km. The gentle slope begins when you take the RAVeL and ends on a small road. Regular descent to the Vesder.

Children: From +/- 15 years.

Departure: At the sports complex you go to the bridge over the Vesder that you cross. There you immediately turn left towards the RAVeL, at the roundabout.

Signage: Follow mountain bike signs (green triangles and circles).

Parking: Sports complex spaces, Rue de la Vesdre 14 at 4051 Vaux-sous-Chèvremont.
