What beauty the Ourthe is when it winds through the great plain in the vicinity of Melreux. Let's take advantage of this 'Green Stop' to travel by train to our starting point!

From Melreux station, we pedal to the great landscapes of Calestienne, the region between Condroz and the Ardennes.

In the west there are meadows with a soft relief, while in the east rise hills that are adorned with forests. We will see this variety of landscapes even more during our trip.

Shortly after Monville, we follow the Ourthe which winds through the meadows. Because the Fronville valley is protected by the steep rocks of the Famenne, it is slightly warmer. Shortly after cycling around the campsite, the route climbs slightly to Petit-Han, where a long access road to Biron awaits us.

The ascending road takes us to Oppagne, the gateway to the megalithic fields of Wéris, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia". A long descent takes us further to Hotton and its beautiful and clear valley of the Ourthe.

Route type: Roads with little traffic and RAVeL. Trail of about 20 m near the campsite of Fronville.

Type of bike: STB (Sport & Touring Bike).

Difficulty: A varied course, with occasional hillsides, like this one that leads from Biron to Oppagne.

Children: From +/- 15 years old, trained!

Departure: At the exit of Melreux station, follow the direction of exit 16, at the roundabout. We recommend that you come by train, by bike, to Melreux (Green Stop - www.groenehalte.be): line 43 (Liège-Marloie) is suitable for transporting bicycles.

Signage: Follow junctions 16, 14, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8 (note: no reminder signs between junctions 8 and 69), 69, 68, 67, 73, 70, 17 and 16.

Parking: Next to the train station.

Difficulty: Medium

Duration: 2 hours
