World Heritage Site in Blégny

Meet at Place Sainte Gertrude in Blégny (V). At the roundabout on the left, next to the church of the same name, we take the rue de l'Institut. Continue to follow this street until you reach the police station. Turn left on the way down Rue des Frères G. and L. Hackin. A little further, at a fork and drive-in, turn left again. The beautiful forest road that descends gently narrows into one path. Where you reach the paved road again, turn 180 degrees to the right. You pass a dog training center. You follow this paved road to just in front of the black house with house number 55. Here the narrow path on the left, above the Bolland stream.

At the end of this path, at the cross, turn right through the green swing gate next to the private road. You are now crossing an area of tranquility and reproduction. This narrow, ascending path leads you through another gate out of this area. Keep walking next to a hedge. At the end of the hedge, walk straight to the corner of the hedge just opposite. You're walking through a field, but it's definitely a hiking trail. Continue straight ahead and finally descend to a new stream. Just before the bridge, you take the path on the right. You continue to follow this path, next to the flow. Finally, it goes up and you walk through two swinging gates through a meadow. You follow the public trail 25, a very narrow path.

At the bottom, on the paved road, turn left. Follow this road to house number 64. Here 180 degrees on the right, in the rue de Leval. You walk through this beautiful hamlet. Where the paved road ends, follow the path next to the stream. You cross the stream by a concrete bridge. Now walk straight, ignore all secondary roads until you reach the asphalt road again (in a house with house number 80). Turn left until you reach the T-junction. Here you follow the narrow path behind the bench and the massive stone cross. For example, you walk next to the old waste mountain or slag heap of the old coal mine, to the central building complex. The former mining complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you have time, you can definitely visit it. You leave the hiking trail here. Via a paved road with a playground and the restaurant Le Chalet on the right, you walk to the Dalhem-Blégny track. Follow this about 100 meters to the left (be careful!) to the roundabout with the miners' monument. Turn right here, Riche Street lets in.

At the level of the white house (n ° 52) we enter the rue du Gué. Cross the stream and go up to the left of the Saint-Gilles chapel. Return to the paved road on the left. Now it is still straight towards the center of Mortier. You stay to the right of the church, direction Charneux. At Café Mousse, turn right sharply. A dead end road where you turn left after 40 meters. The paved road turns into a paved road with large pieces of stone. At a cross and a road sign, you continue to walk straight. You return to a paved road. Continue to follow it to a pitchfork with a cross and a bank. Keep right and now always straight until you reach the church of Blégny.
