Cycling around Ellikom

Appointment at the church of Ellikom (V). Cycle next to the church into the Brogelerweg, direction 01. Cross the Abeek and turn left at junction 01, direction 03. You will pass Centerparks Erpekom and some images of children's games by Bruegel over the Ellikomerdijk. You can try it out in a modern version. Ignore a road on the right, cycle past the agglomeration sign of Erpekom and the Pieter Brueghel Primary School and turn left at the intersection with the wide concrete road. Cycle past the church of Erpekom and cross the Meeuwen-Peer road. Continue cycling through the Mgr. Broekxstraat, past a chicken farm to junction 03 at the historic Broekxhof (already mentioned in 1492). Choose direction node 04. You cycle past a chapel, cross the Gielisbeek and pedal a long way through the Gielisheide, without caring about side roads, until you arrive at the busy Helchteren-Meeuwen road. Cross it and continue cycling through the Bunkerstraat. Where it becomes unpaved straight ahead, you turn left with the concrete road and continue cycling to an intersection with junction 04. Turn right here, direction 77. You cycle between fields and meadows with a house here and there and along the name plate of Peer. From a crossroads with a chapel in cave form, the road narrows. Then turn right onto the Middendijk and cycle past 'Zelf Pluk Blauwe bessen', where you can get started yourself in July and August. In Siberia At the crossroads a little further on the right are some large buildings that belonged to a disappeared model farm. You can read more about it on an information board on the other side of the Middendijk. Although in retrospect the info does not appear to be entirely correct. You are now in Siberia 1 . Follow the Ruiterweg to the left, cross the Dommel and cycle on a T right. At the next fork, at the edge of the forest, turn left. You now cycle over the Walewijndijk to a chapel along the N719. Cross the busy road and follow Lindebosstraat to junction 77. Continue cycling straight ahead, towards 78. Cycle along a grove and between fields and take the Grote Hoefstraat on the left at a chapel. You wind around a grove, turn left into the Hoppestraat and cycle past the 'laughing trees' 2, a project from 2009 by Kunstkring Perebloesem from Peer. At the end of the Hoppestraat turn left and on the T turn right until you reach the Helchterensedijk. Turn right and at the junction with the Hendrix chapel follow the Houtestraat, diagonally left. You cycle between two canals until you can turn left into the Lt. F. Limboschstraat. Where the road becomes unpaved, there is a war memorial with an information board about Lieutenant Freddy Limbosch of the Belgium 5th Special Air Service Regiment. There at those mills turn right and after a few bends start a long straight line, towards junction 78. After 2 km between fields and meadows with a farm here and there you come to a crossroads with junction 78. Turn left and at the crossroads with the white chapel turn left again. Follow the Diestersedijk to junction 05. Turn right onto the old railway bed, direction 248. Cross the Peerderbaan and continue cycling past Frituur De Statie. You cross a few more streets, cross the Bollisserbeek and cycle past the name sign of Eksel. At junction 248 you continue to follow the old railway bed, direction 247. You cycle past 't Terraske and continue cycling straight ahead at junction 248, direction 245. You bolt along the wheels extra on2 football field of FC Pundershoek, cross the busier Stationsstraat and cycle between Services Center Sint-Oda and sports fields to junction 245. Turn right, direction 206. You cycle past the mill museum and the Sevensmolen 3, Services Center Sint-Oda and the Wedelse molen 4 to junction 206. Continue straight ahead, direction 207. Turn right onto the first road and cycle away from the busy Breugelweg. Turn left and turn right on the T. Cross the N747 and keep left at the first fork and right at the second. At a triangular square with a picnic area, turn right and cycle through a tractor lock. A little further you come to junction 207. Turn left, direction 06. You cycle to the Kiezel Kleine-Brogel (N748) and follow this busy road on a red dotted line cycle path to the right. Take the second street on the left, a street for local traffic, and follow it to the end. Now follow 'Op de Kippen' to the left. Wings on Kleine-Brogel You cycle past the barracks and the Air Museum of Kleine-Brogel. Behind the wire you can admire a Fugue Magister, an F-84EG Thunderjet and an F-84F Thunderstreak. You will arrive at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwlaan. Cross it and continue cycling between two canals to a crossroads. Turn left into Witterdstraat. It now continues on a road for agricultural vehicles. On the next T, turn right. If it goes straight ahead, turn left with the asphalt road and you are in Grote-Brogel. Continue cycling between the meadows and turn right with the Kruisakkerweg. You will pass a vlasroot (with information board) and a picnic area. Continue cycling to the T at the Pastorijhoeve with a sign explaining beef cattle. Left. At the next farm you will see an information board about dairy cattle. Cross an intersection and cycle past a sheep farm. At a crossroads with a dirt road in front of you, turn right and cycle past Breugelhoeve 5 and the Seizoenshof. A little further on you will pass bicycle and equestrian café Den Houben 6 with petting zoo, where you can go for farm ice cream, among other things. At the end turn left and then right into the Elvenweg. It now winds through the open landscape and past a farm with laying hens. You cycle through a grove and past a farm with veal calves. At the end of the Elvenweg turn left and then right into the Hoogstraat. In the forest you reach junction 06. Continue straight ahead, direction 01. You bolt through the forest, get a view of a sand extraction lake on the right and then it continues between meadows and fields and again through a forest until you reach the Laarderkapel in the bend of the Laarweg. Cycle past the chapel to the Baan to Bree (N73). At the roundabout, take the third exit toward Centerparks Erperheide. Leave the Leyssenhofweg on the left and follow the Vaashofweg to the left at the crossroads. Continue cycling between loose buildings, meadows and fields until junction 01. Here you know the way. Continue straight ahead, direction 02 until you reach the starting point at ellikom church.
