The blade

This part of Waasland belongs to the core area of the Reynaert epic. Many toponyms from history can be found here. The treasure that lies hidden in the Kriekeputten must also be sought here. By the way, there are several places with this name. The walk will take you past some of these place names. The landscape consists mainly of wide polders. In the end, you will venture into the Stroperswald. Don't worry, there haven't been any robbers there for a long time.
DEPARTURE POINT
You can reach the old station of De Klinge by taking the N49-E34 at exit 11-De Tromp and then taking the N403 towards Hulst. After 2.5 km, you turn right towards De Klinge in the hamlet of Paal just before the border crossing. After about 1 km, you will reach the old station near a school.
PARKING
Small parking lot on the left before the former level crossing.
TYPE OF ROAD
Alternating low-traffic asphalt and concrete roads, field and gravel paths, forest paths in the Stroperswald.
ACCESSIBILITY
Impossible for buggies and wheelchairs; the Stroperswald can be very muddy after rainy weather.
