When viewed from the air, Limburg has over a hundred ponds. Most of them are located in Middle-Limburg, where hard layers prevent the water from seeping further into the ground. The pond area of Middle-Limburg covers 2500 ha and is divided into seven sub-areas. On this day trip, you will get to know, among other things, the ponds of Terlaemen. We will also visit the Bolderbos, a beautiful piece of heath and pine forest on the Bolderberg between the Laambeek and the Bolderbeek. The Bolderberg is the natural boundary between the Kempen and Haspengouw and once formed a large dune area with the other hills. In the 18th century, there were still numerous heathlands, but since 1933, coniferous trees have dominated and the heath is slowly being overgrown.
