Lo

Lo and Pollinkhove are two villages where the Lovaart and the IJzer meet. Traditionally, there were already settlements here on the drier sand ridges. Even Julius Caesar is said to have rested here under a centuries-old yew tree. Today, you stroll in the shade of rustling poplars, which are also called 'Achtkanter' or 'Ruyschaerts,' and seek the tranquility in the surroundings of the IJzer. All around you stretches a beautiful polder landscape. In short, an ideal walk for those who want to explore the region behind the coastline.
DEPARTURE POINT
You can reach the market of Lo by taking the A19 Kortrijk-Ieper. After Ieper, follow the N8 towards Veurne until 5 km behind Oostvleteren. There you take the N364 towards Diksmuide until you reach the center of Lo after 3 km.

At the market of Lo.
TYPE OF ROAD
Low traffic asphalt roads, gravel and cobblestone paths, some sandy paths may be muddy after rainy weather.
ACCESSIBILITY
Impossible for strollers and wheelchairs.
