Walking in the Meerdomein of Keerbergen and through the heathland of Pommelsven.

The municipal primary school of the Lozenhoek is the starting point of the walk. There is parking available for the car. You walk through the residential Meerdomein of Keerbergen via Nieuwstraat, Achiel Cleynhenslaan, Wielewaalweg, and Mereldreef. At Mereldreef 5, there is a public viewpoint overlooking the lake. Via Nachtegalendreef, you reach the nature reserve Pommelsven.
The Pommelsven (about 10ha) is one of the last remaining heathland areas in Keerbergen, a remnant of the former Keerbergen 'Groote Heyde' that was taken over by the lake and the residential buildings around it. The Pommelsven, with its moist and dry heath, was purchased and protected by the municipality in 1985. In terms of vegetation, there are pine forests, oaks, and heather, which gradually are replaced by heather and low-growing reed grass near the pond. In August, the rare and protected bellflower gentian blooms (do not pick!). The center of Keerbergen is located in the reserve. Occasionally, small heath sheep graze to keep the heathland vital. To avoid disturbing the animals living in the reserve, you must keep dogs on a leash.

Via Torteldreef and Vlieghavenlaan, you walk back to the Meerdomein and through Vlieghavenlaan walk through the southern Meerdomein to the De Marcken De Mercken square (heath restoration management) where you can take a moment to walk to the banks of the lake. From there, you continue on to Nieuwstraat in the Lozenhoek and back to the starting point of the walk.
