In search of our waterways ...

The Molenbeek, the tributary of the Senne, is a veritable 'green and blue corridor', which connects Flanders and Brussels.
During this walk, partly in a Natura 2000 area, you will discover a beautiful valley where nature has not only been preserved, but even developed thanks to the joint efforts of nature lovers, nature associations and managers of both regions. This walk will take you to discover streams, wetlands, woods and meadows. The combination of these specific environments makes the whole of this area valuable for biodiversity.

The CEBO, the Environment Commission of Brussels-West, aims to inform and encourage the preservation of nature in the city. It participates, in the municipalities of north-west Brussels, in the search for a quality of life linked to the conservation of a pleasant and harmonious environment. The CEBO manages the Poelbos and Jette marsh regional nature reserves in agreement with Brussels Environment.

Natuurpunt is an association that is committed to more nature and for a better nature both in Flanders and in Brussels where it has local sections. The local section of Asse is the initiator of the Molenbeek and Maalbeek project mentioned in this brochure.
