We start on the roof of East Flanders: the Hotondberg. Before you get out your mountain boots and hiking poles, you should know that this rugged show hill on the border of Ronse and Zulzeke rises 145 meters above sea level. So it's doable for all hikers, but don't be fooled: from the top you can enjoy one of the beautiful views Belgium has to offer. Panoramas to dream about.
THE HIGHEST POINT IN EAST FLANDERS
Beneath your feet stretches one of Belgium's many beautiful landscapes. You will be treated to the slope of the Spijker- en Elenebos in Zulzeke, bathed in sunlight. If you have your binoculars in your pocket, you can look for the bell towers of Anzegem and Tiegem in West Flanders on the horizon.
