The tourist region of the Ardennes is geographically interpreted too broadly. This route takes you through what geologists and geographers consider to be the "real" Ardennes. According to many tourist pictures and guides, the Ardennes start from places like Namur, while experts are referring to the Condroz. In other words, there is some confusion between the tourist Ardennes and the geological Ardennes. According to geologists, the Ardennes are situated on a substrate that dates back to the Lower Devonian and older (Silurian, Ordovician, and Cambrian).
It is quite a long route but contains many sections where you can drive well. Still, expect to take enough time (6 hours) to cover the route and enjoy it.
