Classic; After joining the Cerchov trail, the route climbs for just under a kilometer to the starting point of Pavlikova Vyhlidka, which the Germans like to call Herzogauer Blick, as it offers a beautiful view of the church in Herzogau. There is also a seating area here, which is always beautifully snow-covered in winter. From there it is not far to the Sattelhütte/Na Zlomu (915 meters), where there is also a canopy, which Czech cross-country skiers in particular like to use for a rest or a snack. Even before the hut, the trail leads downhill to the right, only to require the full concentration of cross-country skiers once again at the end of another sharp right-hand bend to avoid ending up in the adjacent forest. From here, it is still around six and a half kilometers to the Gibacht. The descent at Smrci/Fichtenfels requires good stamina and after the leisurely run-out, the trail climbs slightly again. After that, you can also practise double poling. Around one kilometer before the Brombeerriegel border crossing, two deforested areas offer wonderful views across the Bohemian border area, including the Korab near Kdyne/Neugedein. There is a viewing bench at the first open area and an impressive view of Folmava from the second open area. You soon reach the Brombeerriegel/Pod tremi znaky border crossing (859 meters) with the former service hut, which has long been disused but is often used for a rest. From here, the trail climbs just under 500 meters before turning left onto the Gibacht 3 trail, which takes you to Gibacht (Text: Karl Reitmeier). Together with the towns of Furth im Wald and Waldmünchen and the Czech region of Domažlicko, the Safety in Skiing Foundation (SIS) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have been working to develop the quality of the cross-country ski trail network in the Upper Bavarian Forest/Bohemian Forest in recent years. The trails have been certified as a cross-border DSV nordic active center according to international criteria, signposted with a uniform system and equipped with information boards.
