The city of Naumburg had the famous inhabitant Friedrich Nietzsche. After Nietzsche''s father death from a brain ailment in 1849 and the death of his younger brother in 1850, the family moved to Naumburg, where they lived with Nietzsche''s paternal grandmother and his father''s two unmarried sisters.
Nietzsche attended a boys'' school and later a private school, where he became friends with Gustav Krug and Wilhelm Pinder, both of whom came from respected families. In 1854 he began to attend the Domgymnasium in Naumburg,
