Reit im Winkl offers mountains, pastures, and world-famous attractions. Go on an exploration: visit Herrenchiemsee Palace, the Winklmoosalm made world-famous by Rosi Mittermaier, the town of Kufstein, or the nearby Kitzbühel. Tips for extra day trips: from Reit im Winkl, you can easily reach the Großglockner High Alpine Road. Or take the impressive route around the nearby Tyrolean Kaiser Mountains with three beautiful and spectacular passes, the Grießneralm, the Wochenbrunneralm, and the Kitzbühlerhorn.
In Reit im Winkl, many romantic vacation wishes come true: very old, rustic farms, wooden balconies adorned with flowers, churches, chapels, fields, and meadows with happy cows. Plus untouched nature as far as the eye can see. A maypole and the church in the village, plus at least one chapel in each neighborhood.
Reit im Winkl is actually located in the southernmost corner of Germany - almost uniquely beautiful. The valley is extensive, open to the west, free of fog, and enjoys a lot of sunshine. The first premium hiking trails, the first climbing path in the Chiemgau, and the diverse offerings for families provide everything the active vacationer could wish for. Particularly noteworthy: the cross-border 18-hole golf course, with unobstructed views of the steep, rugged peaks of the Kaiser Mountains, including the Wilder Kaiser and the Zahmer Kaiser. While taking a trip on the nostalgic chairlift from the Winklmoosalm to the Dürrnbachhorn, you can impressively experience the idyllic scenery of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps - with views extending to the main crest of the Alps! At over 20 alpine pastures, hikers and climbers can recharge with a regional, traditional bread meal after a short or long trek.
