Golmsdorf

Golmsdorf is a municipality in the north of the Thuringian Saale-Holzland District and part of the administrative community Dornburg-Camburg. The municipality is divided into the districts of Golmsdorf, Beutnitz, and Naura.

The municipality of Golmsdorf is located at the exit of the Gleistal, 2 km east of the B 88 in the Saale Valley between Jena and Dornburg. The state road 2307 runs through Golmsdorf. The city of Jena is about 7 km away and the nearest motorway is the A 4, 11 km to the south. The nearest train station is located in Porstendorf, 2 km west on the Saalbahn between Großheringen and Saalfeld. Until 1969, the railway line Crossen–Porstendorf existed, where there was a stop in Golmsdorf.
