Prath is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland-Palatinate. It belongs to the administrative community of Loreley, which has its administrative center in St. Goarshausen.
Prath was first mentioned in a document in 922. In the following centuries, Prath was part of the Boppard realm. When the Imperial City of Boppard lost its imperial immediacy in 1327 and was pledged by King Henry VII to his brother, Archbishop Baldwin of Trier, Prath also came under the Electorate, to which it belonged until 1803. Therefore, the Reformation was never introduced there.
