Prester is a 5.1586 km² district of Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt, located on the eastern bank of the Elbe, with 2,103 inhabitants.
The district has a natural western border with the Strom- and Alter Elbe, which extends from the northern edge of the Kreuzhorst forest area to the height of Seestraße. The northern district of Cracau is first bordered by the Elbe dike, then by Leuschnerstraße and Thomas-Mann-Straße. To the east, the almost uninhabited districts of Zipkeleben and Pechau adjoin, while Prester lies on an almost flat surface between 45 and 47 metres above sea level. Large areas in the west and south are agricultural or fallow land. To the east stretches the Prester See, an old arm of the Elbe.
