The Herzkämper Mulde Trail is a circular hiking trail in the area of Sprockhövel-Gennebreck, -Herzkamp and Obersprockhövel at the border to Wuppertal, which connects various mining historical sites from the early days of coal mining in the Ruhr area.
At the southern edge of the Ruhr area, the oldest seams of the Ruhr carbon from the Upper Carbon outcrop at the surface in the area of the Herzkämper Mulde. Therefore, the oldest evidence of hard coal mining in the Ruhr area can also be found here.
