The Fintau is an 18.9 km long left tributary of the Wümme in Lower Saxony, Germany. The river rises southeast of Eggersmühlen near Wesseloh in the district of Heidekreis and flows mainly in a north-westerly direction, initially through natural forest, field and meadow areas in the Oberes Fintautal nature reserve in the joint municipality of Fintel. It crosses the municipality of Vahlde and flows northwest of Lauenbrück into the Wümme, which is hardly the same size here.
