The Edersee is a lake east of the village of Plötzky, which belongs to Schönebeck in Saxony-Anhalt. In the immediate vicinity, there are several other small lakes. Just a few meters to the west lies the Giselasee.
The lake, surrounded by forest, was formed as a result of the extraction of quartzite rock. However, the extraction was stopped in 1923. The lake, located in the district of Plötzky, reaches a depth of up to 20 meters. An area for local recreation was created around the lake, which is characterized mainly by permanent camping and cottage properties. On the eastern shore of the lake, there is a bathing area with a playground.
