The Hahnenmoor is a nature reserve located south of Herzlake, east of Dohren, and north of Grafeld, extending from there into the district of Osnabrück. The area is approximately 620 hectares large and was placed under nature protection in 1977 as part of the Lower Saxony peatland protection program, with the designation NSG WE 054. The NSG Hahnenmoor is part of a FFH area, which also includes the Hahlener Moor and the Suddenmoor. Hahnenmoor is also the name of the westernmost part of the municipality of Menslage.
