Hilbeck House

Haus Hilbeck is a former moated castle and today's manor house in Hilbeck, a district of the town of Werl, in the district of Soest in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The house probably owes its name to the village of Hilbeck. Not everyone who later called himself von Hilbeck or de Hilbecke or similar belongs to the knightly family. A Gobelinus de Hilbecke is documented for 1260. In the coat of arms, the von Hilbeck family wore a tournament collar in an undivided coat of arms. At times, the family was also referred to as von der Heyde called von Hilbeck, in a document from 1357 a Heinrich von der Heyde gnt v. Hilbeck and his wife Frederunis v. Vrisendorf are mentioned. After 1461, this family probably lived in the Kamen area. The von Hilbeck family, who appeared in the village in the 16th century, bear the name after the name of the village.
