The Lorch train station is located at track kilometer 39.9 of the Rems Railway. It is served by regional trains.
The citizens of Lorch received the news with enthusiasm that the Royal Württemberg State Railway intends to build a rail line from Cannstatt to Wasseralfingen. However, this brought difficulties for the market community. Right here, the Rems Valley was particularly densely built, so the route was routed right through the town. Even buildings had to make way – among them the post office and the Gasthof Gipfel. The state railway set up four crossings: at Stuttgarter Straße, Haldenbergstraße, Friedrichstraße, and Karlsplatz.
