The Catholic mountain chapel Maria Hilf in Valepp was built in 1710 and is situated at an altitude of 883 meters. The church is a listed building and is included in the Bavarian Monument List. The construction was supported and largely financed by the Monastery of Scheyern. The mountain church stands on an elevated meadow spur above the Valepp river valley near the border of Bavaria and Tyrol. The early Baroque altar of the mountain chapel, designed after the model of the Church of St. Michael in Munich, features the venerated image of Maria Hilf in its center. Since the secularization, the mountain chapel has been the property of the Bavarian state. It belongs to the parish area of St. Josef in Neuhaus.
