The Löhrtor was one of the three large gates of the Siegen city fortifications of the then Nassau city of Siegen, today part of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was located on the southern side of the old town on the Siegberg immediately south of the junction of Kohlbettstraße and today's Löhrstraße.
In 1338, the gate was first mentioned under the name "Wetzlarer Pforte". Today's Löhrstraße leading through the gate was also called differently. It was mentioned in 1404 as "wetslergasse" and was first called "loirgasse" in 1455. This name has remained to this day and only changed between the designations "-gasse" and "-straße".
