The Stever is a 58 km long right tributary of the Lippe in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The valley in which the entire bed runs is called Stevergau and is part of the southern Münsterland.
The source of the Stever is located at an altitude of 130 m near the hamlet of Stevern in a nature reserve on the flank of the Westerberg between Münster and Coesfeld. The dammed spring pond used to serve as a fire-fighting water supply, cattle swelling area and fish farm. Due to the numerous springs, the Stever quickly becomes a considerable stream, which immediately drives the first of a series of water mills.
Then the Stever meanders widely through meadows and fields in a southerly direction over Appelhülsen to Senden, where it feeds several canals and ponds. At the castle is the confluence with the Dummersbach.
