Airport Porta Westfalica

The Porta Westfalica airfield is a public airfield in Porta Westfalica. It is located both north and east of the Weser River at the Weser bend in an old, renaturalized gravel area. A few kilometers north rise the Wiehen and Weser mountains with the Porta Westfalica in between, which gives the airfield its name. Neighboring towns include Porta Westfalica, about four kilometers northeast, Bad Oeynhausen, approximately four kilometers southwest, Vlotho, seven kilometers to the south, and Minden, about ten kilometers to the north. The official name of the airfield is Porta Westfalica public airfield. It has an 860-meter long asphalt runway and a 1000-meter long grass runway and is situated 45 meters above NHN. The airfield is mainly used by the air sports clubs located around Porta.
