Haeger & Schmidt Logistics GmbH is a shipping company specializing in cargo transport with inland vessels, located in Duisburg-Ruhrort. It belongs to the Austrian Felbermayr Group.
The founders and namesakes are the German merchants Robert Haeger and Carl Schmidt. The inland shipping company was founded twice: on January 11, 1887, as a partnership in the Belgian port city of Antwerp and at the request of Rheinstahl on January 5, 1920, as a GmbH in Duisburg-Ruhrort, after Haeger & Schmidt was dissolved by the Belgian government in 1918 as a consequence of World War I and the assets of the owners were confiscated.
