The Hollekamp lime works was a plant in Ahaus for the production of quicklime for agriculture and industry with an associated quarry and named after the family name of the operator. The quarry was an important outcrop of the Upper Cretaceous and is known for its fossil finds. The "Wüllen Formation", which is still known as the "Wüllen Formation" today, is named after today's Wüllen district, to which the quarry belonged. After the cessation of lime extraction, the quarry became a lake and was no longer accessible. Nevertheless, it is a registered paleontological monument.
