The Lambertus Chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel in Ramrath, a district of Rommerskirchen in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The pre-Romanesque building is considered the oldest structure in the Rhein-Kreis.
The present Lambertus Chapel essentially represents the original private chapel of the Carolingian Ramrather court, which was built in the 9th, at the latest in the 10th century, as a hall church with a rectangular choir. Settlement in Ramrath has been documented since the 8th century, so it is possible that a wooden predecessor building existed before the chapel was constructed. The documented mention of the court occurred in 1285, and the Lambertus Chapel in 1577. The court with the chapel remained in the possession of the Cologne monastery of St. Maria im Kapitol until the secularization in 1802.
