The Kleine Röder, also known as the Schwarzgraben, is a left tributary about 40 kilometers long of the Große Röder in Saxony and Brandenburg, which flows into the Schwarze Elster on the left.
The Kleine Röder branches off from the Große Röder near Zabeltitz and flows in a northwesterly direction. In its course, the Kleine Röder feeds several artificial water bodies specially created for fish farming with the ponds of Koselitzer, Tiefenauer and Kröbelner. In addition, the Kleine Röder has also taken over the crest of the Elsterwerda-Grödel raft canal, as it has the highest water level of the three branches of the Große Röder estuary used to feed this historic waterway.
