Stöffin is a district with 226 inhabitants of the district town of Neuruppin in the Brandenburg district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin. Stöffin is located about 7 kilometers southwest of the core city of Neuruppin.
The first documented mention dates back to 1256 as Steuin. The name is derived from the Slavic word Stavn and means a village located by standing water. Around 1490, Stöffin was part of the region that was directly subject to the Holy Roman Empire under the rule of the Counts of Lindow-Ruppin. After the Thirty Years' War, the village developed very slowly, with 202 inhabitants living here around 1800. On December 6, 1993, Stöffin was incorporated into Neuruppin.
