Bücknitz is a former municipality in the Brandenburg district of Potsdam-Mittelmark and has been one of three districts of the town of Ziesar since the municipal area reform in 2002.
Bücknitz is located about 30 kilometers southwest of the town of Brandenburg an der Havel on the edge of the Fiener Bruch and the wooded Bücknitzer Heide, which developed on an ice age alluvial cone. The district is traversed by the small river Buckau and the Strynzelbach. The municipality of Bücknitz is surrounded by green and arable land as well as large forest areas.
