Dahlenberg

Dahlenberg can be reached via the district road 8901 and is located under the Schafberg of the Düben Forest and north of the Dahlenberg reservoir.
The street village of Dahlenberg is of Flemish origin and was founded in the period 1250–1280. The name was borrowed from the Dahle plant cultivated by the Flemish settlers and was given as Dalenberg in 1454. It developed to today's Dahlenberg. In 1551, 24 people lived in the settlement. In 1818, 320 people were already resident. In 1939 the community had 402 and in 1950 557 people. The superordinate authority was usually in Torgau. From 1529 to 1880, Wittenberg was responsible. Since 2008, the district of North Saxony has been responsible. In 1971, the village was incorporated into Trossin. In 2012, 261 people lived in the district. The rural community farmed 810 hectares with the estate district and the farmers. In the past, the estate was a manor with Leipnitz Castle.
