Cismar is a place with about 800 inhabitants in the municipality of Grömitz in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein.
The core of the place is a former Benedictine monastery, the Cismar Monastery, which was relocated from Lübeck to Cismar in 1245. In the course of secularization, the monastery was dissolved and transformed into the official office of the Cismar district.
