Bollmühle

The Bollmühle is a former water mill on the Silberbach in Veldrom in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building has been listed as an architectural monument since 16 July 1998 under the entry A 13.1 in the list of monuments of the city of Horn-Bad Meinberg.
The first mill in Veldrom was built in 1609 under the aegis of Count Simon VI. Even before it was put into operation, however, the mill was consumed by flames. The bailiff of Kempen, who was in the service of the Prince-Bishop of Paderborn, was accused of arson.
A new building was built a little to the west of it in the years 1663 to 1665, the mill ditch was built in 1667. His successor was Johann Daniel Reineken in 1761, followed by the miller Pollmann. One of his descendants bought the mill and bakehouse in 1816. Until this time, the mill services had to be provided free of charge by the citizens of Veldroms and Grevenhagen, after the sale the services were limited to the Veldrömer. On 8 October 1839, the Kolon Blanke acquired the Bollmühle. After a fire in 1845, he rebuilt it. His nephew Adolf Schlüter planned to build a windmill at the beginning of the 20th century, but it was never realized. The last miller was his son Werner from 1950 to 1958, then the business was discontinued. The path "An der Bollmühle", created in 1975, leads through the former mill pond. At the end of the 1970s, smaller ponds were created again to the right and left of the path.
