The water castle Schatthausen is located in Schatthausen, a district of Wiesloch in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis. The castle is a protected historical monument.
The current east wing of the water castle was built after 1562 by the von Bettendorff family, presumably on the site of an earlier manor house. The brothers Abraham and Adam Gerner von Lilienstein owned the castle from 1665 to 1677. Their coat of arms, as an alliance coat of arms with von Brüggen, still decorates the entrance gate to the castle today. In 1670, the castle was renovated in an unknown manner. The north wing was constructed around 1720. The castle was then extensively remodeled and expanded by a farmstead. The three-winged, three-story complex was acquired in 1828 by the Freiherren Göler von Ravensburg, who still own it today. The castle is surrounded by an intact water ditch.
