The Teutoburg Forest (German: Teutoburg Forest) is a narrow low mountain range that stretches for a distance of about 100 km from Hörstel in the northwest and continues via Osnabrück and Bielefeld to Horn-Bad Meinberg. At Horn-Bad Meinberg it merges into the Egge Mountains.
The western part (between Ibbenbüren and Tecklenburg) can be reached from Enschede within an hour by car, making it a popular cycling area among Dutch people. Here you will find climbs up to 3 kilometers in length (with hills such as Lienener Berg, Dörenberg, Heidberg, Leedener Berg), beautiful towns such as Tecklenburg with its half-timbered houses in the center and Bad Iburg.
