Hof Deitmar (Registry Office) Emsdetten

The Deitmar family has been involved in the shooting sports of the town of Emsdetten. The Dorfbauern Shooting Society claims to have the Deitmar estate as the nucleus for the Dorfbauern Shooting Society. The society's first king's plaque from 1805 bears the name Deitmaring (Deitmar).

After the end of World War II, the English occupiers wanted to use the residence as an officers' mess. However, this could be averted by a little trick of Mrs. Deitmar. At that time, Mrs. Deitmar was one of the few citizens of Emsdetten who spoke fluent English. She was thus able to make clear to the English commander that the Schilgen family's estate would be more suitable for that purpose. Consequently, the staff of the English occupiers was accommodated in the villa of the Schilgen family. However, in 1946, two refugee families were housed in the rooms on the upper floor of the main house. A friendly and warm relationship developed between these families and the Deitmar family. The last of the refugee families, the Wawrzinek family, moved into their own house in the Mülders Busch building area in 1965.

Various events, such as the shooting festivals of the Teupen Shooting Society and the Citizen Shooters as well as family celebrations of some Emsdetten clubs, take place at the Deitmar estate.
