The Birkholzaue telecommunications tower is a 110-metre-high telecommunications tower near Birkholzaue in Bernau near Berlin in the German state of Brandenburg.
The telecommunications tower was built on behalf of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. For the foundation pit, 3175 cubic meters of earth had to be excavated. The tower has a height of 110 meters without antenna. By December 1958, the tower had reached a height of 80 meters, had a diameter of 5.40 meters and the wall thickness was 15 centimeters. The tower was completed in the autumn of 1959. After that, other specialist companies started the interior work and so an elevator system was installed in the middle of the tower.
