The Protestant village church of Zaschendorf is a half-timbered church from the 17th century located in the district of Zaschendorf in Kuhlen-Wendorf, in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It belongs to the parish of Brüel in the Sternberg church region within the Wismar provostry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany.
In a fragment of the tithe register of the diocese of Schwerin, the village of Saszkendorp sunt III mansi was first documented in 1320. In 1344, it is referred to as Tzatkendorp. On February 13, 1344, Count Nikolaus of Schwerin, nicknamed Pyst, granted the knight Raven of Barnekow, as a lordly councilor for his loyal services, especially during his imprisonment, the property and highest court in the villages of Zaschendorf, Parsow, Muggelwitz, and Zietlitz, as well as the hunting rights in the Zietlitzer woods. For almost 120 years, Zaschendorf belonged to the family of Barnekow, until they died out in Mecklenburg around 1600. In the following centuries, ownership and patronage in Zaschendorf changed constantly. In 1462, Martin von Barner was in Zaschendorf, then in 1569 Johann von Barner, and from 1646 the village and estate were pawned to Heinrich von Taden for six years. In 1653, Johann Diesteler leased the estate, but by 1688 the ownership had passed to Gottlieb von Hagen. In 1697, Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf Dietrich Degingk was the pledge holder of Zaschendorf. In 1759, Captain Christian Ludwig von Bülow married Degingk's heiress, and Zaschendorf remained in their possession until 1818. The Bülow heirs were succeeded in 1819 by Karl Emanuel Lübbe. In 1851, Zaschendorf came to the family of von Langermann-Erlenkamp through Baroness von Langermann, a born Lübbe. From 1921 to 1938, District Administrator Friedrich Baron von Langermann-Erlenkamp was in Zaschendorf, followed by District Administrator Klaus von Bredow, and until the expropriation in 1945, Gudrun von Bredow, a born Freiin von Langermann-Erlenkamp, was the owner of Zaschendorf.
