The Edewecht War Cemetery is a burial site for over 400 German soldiers as well as a number of prisoners of war and forced laborers from World War II in Edewecht, Lower Saxony.
Between April 14 and May 3, 1945, due to the fierce fighting for the Edewechterdamm bridgehead, 412 Germans, about 300 Allied soldiers, and 104 civilians lost their lives. Due to the personnel and material superiority of the Allied forces, the German defense in this situation was already futile from the perspective of that time.
